Another historical must-see in Istanbul is the Topkapi Palace Musuem, where the Ottoman Sultans used to live. It’s a big palace with a lot to see but our main interest was to visit the Harem which is the private rooms where the Sultans, their wives and concubines used to live.

Mesmerized by the design, colours, tiles and historical explanations of each room, being in the Harem felt like I was stepping back in time into an exotic tale of A Thousand And One Nights.
