Baptism Decor For a Baby Girl

I think it’s become official. I’ve been assigned head of the decor committee for all of my best friend’s events. She’s put full confidence in me to make a party room look pretty. The latest event was for the baptism of her adorable daughter, Chloe. After the baptism ceremony, her parents were hosting a brunch reception at their home and she, as well as her parents, gave me carte blanche to decorate their place.

Since it was a June baptism, delicate florals seemed like the inevitable theme. Baby’s breath, white ribbons and doilies came to mind.

A party isn’t a party without a banner. Or maybe I like to think that because I love making banners. This one was easy and very inexpensive to make. I picked up some medium size doilies from the dollar store, light pink scrapbook paper from Michaels and I had a silver gift bag laying around in my craft box that I used to cut out the letters “Blessed”. I added some leftover baby’s breath on the corners as dual purpose: to hide the tape holding the string and also to make it look more aesthetic.

My best friend got newborn photos professionally taken, so as part of her gift, I developed the photos and had them framed and scattered around the room. Can we take a moment to gush and swoon over this adorable little angel?

At the entrance console, a storybook was laid out for guests to sign. Keeping up with the floral theme, I added my DIY floral initial to add a bit of colour, that happened to match with the yellow roses that were already there.

I found this cute frame at HomeSense that had the words “Life is about moments” displayed, and I thought it was a fitting philosophy for this event. And fitting for the desserts table.

And while the christening, the mingling and the glass clinking in honour of baby Chloe was happening, she was snoozing peacefully throughout it all.
