Upcycled Furniture Inspired by Summer and Travels

I am so happy to have finally completed refurbishing some of the antique pieces I’ve had sitting in my garage over the winter months. I had a bit of free time this past weekend so away I went with my paintbrush. I hope you enjoy the transformation!

Storage Cabinet

I painted this stunning piece a calming blue-green and added coral knobs for a fun colour contrast. I chose floral knobs to tie into the engraved rose design that was part of the original piece. I also distressed the edges of the unit to give a slight worn-out look. The paint I used is called Opal Silk from CIL Paints and the knobs were from Zara Home.

I saw this wooden cabinet and knew I wanted to give this piece a bohemian wanderlust design and Turkey was my inspiration. I painted it a striking turquoise colour called Bali Hai from CIL Paint and added these perfectly fitting knobs from Zara Home. The top knobs are ceramic and inspired by Turkish tiles and the bottom knobs are wooden and have a Taj Mahal flare to it.

It’s pretty remarkable what a coat of paint and some inspiration can do to a forgotten yet beautiful piece of furniture.
