I haven’t seen a sunset in over a month. That’s 31 days of Spring without a sunset. For a lot of us right now, it’s an unusual new reality.
Sunsets are a daily occurrence that some may take for granted, but not me. I’m that quintessential sucker for sunsets. Why? Because even though I’ve seen over a hundred of them, they feel different each time. Sunsets still take my breath away. They still surprise me. They make my problems feel so small when I take into consideration how powerfully magical the sky can be.
Sunsets add whimsy to mundane days. They are calming companions on a long drive. On anxious days, sunsets remind you to stop and breathe for a second. On great days, sunsets will timestamp the last few minutes of a day you’ll always remember with a full heart.
It’s what I live for when flying above glowing coral skies or exploring an exciting new destination, capturing familiar pink palettes over foreign landscapes. No matter where we are in the world, sunsets spark wonder, admiration, and even worship amongst all.
Being in a state of missing sunsets made me want to share my collection of my most favourite ones. The everyday sunsets, the exotic sunsets, and those calming sunsets. The ones that make me smile, the ones that I enjoyed on my own, the ones I shared with the man I’m going to marry, and the ones that make me relive a memory with people that I long to hold again.
