Mystical Unicorn Makeup and Costume

This Halloween was definitely a different one, but I personally think that was more of a reason to dress up and have fun, even if it’s just for a virtual Halloween party.

This year, I dressed up as a unicorn. It was a fun, magical and easy to put together.

There are many crafty ways to create a unicorn costume, but I opted for the simplest route possible: a multicolour wig, a unicorn horn and whimsical iridescent makeup.

I already owned a handful of pastel and iridescent eyeshadows for when I’m feelin’ my mermaid vibes, so after watching a few YouTube tutorials for inspiration, I played around with what I had and whipped up a look without any exact direction.

For this look, precision isn’t necessary. I just winged it – eyeliner, and all.

To achieve that purple, blue and iridescent eye and cheek colour, I used the Becca Pearl Glow Shimmering Eye Palette, mixed with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Moon Child Glow Kit.

For mascara, I used my favourite blue mascara of all time, L‘Oréal Voluminous Original in “Cobalt Blue” (unfortunately, the blue colour didn’t show too well in these photos for some reason, so check out this blog post for reference).

For my lid, inner corner and brow bone, I used a mix of these gorgeous whimsical shimmery colours, “Fresh Water” and ” Iridescent Auara” from the Becca palette. For my crease, I also used a bit of the “Tahitian” shade.

For my crease and cheeks, I used a mix of “Purple Horseshoe” and “Blue Moon”. I also added a bit of the “Blue Ice” in my inner corner too. It’s a classic one to use in the inner corner to brighten up for many different looks.

For lips, I went for a very opaque pink, and the best products I have for that are a mix of RMS Beauty Lip Shine in “Sublime”, and NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Respect The Pink”. Heads up that the NYX Cream Lipstick is extremely matte, so that is why I like to mix it with the RMS lip shine.

Et voila! A fun, simple, colourful, playful, mythical creature that has come to life, and ready to eat all the chocolate and caramel popcorn she can find.

XO 🦄✨
